Re: [pcgen] Traits in 3.5?

Here's a rough-and-dirty procedure that should at least get you started.  I'm assuming you know something about editing LST files.
  1. Go to the Pathfinder core data files (<wherever your data is>/Pathfinder Core Dta/core_rulebook), open up cr_abilitycategories.lst, and grab line 47 (starts with ABILITYCATEGORY:Traits).  Copy that line into your ability category file of you homebrew files.
  2. Go to the Advanced Player's Guide data files (<data>/Pathfinder Core Data/advanced_players_guide), open up apg_abilities.lst, and grab line 7 (starts with CATEGORY=Internal|Default.MOD).  Copy that line into your ability file of your homebrew files, and change the 2 to a 1 (and maybe remove the PRECHARACTERTYPE qualifier; I don't know if the 3.5 data uses that type).
  3. Grab as many as you need of the traits (lines 11 through 203 or so) and copy them into your ability file of your homebrew files.
  4. Grab traits from other books as needed, in a similar manner.
  5. Profit.

If you don't have your own homebrew files, I would suggest making some.  If you really, really, don't want to do that, you could copy them into the main 3.5 files, but then you'd have to re-do the changes every time the program updates.  Plus, having your own homebrew files makes making other minor changes much easier.

I'm playing one of the early Pathfinder campaigns in D&D 3.5.
The DM has let us start with one bonus Trait from the campaign background.

How do I add Traits to the LST files (maybe as Feats?), and how do I let my character have one in addition to his standard feats?

Thanks
David
