Hi,
Backwards compatible is a tricky subject. However, I believe your question is "Will my 6.04.01 character work in 6.05.02" to which the answer is yes. We strive to make each release support earlier release characters.
Are there bugs or issues that arise? Yeah, happens. Each system fix, upgrade or whatnot has a chance of having an issue with a character made before the fix.
The really sticky part is helping homebrewers keep up with our data standards changing. That's another subject entirely.
Cheers,
Andrew
