Hi Brian,
Pathfinder Unchained has not appeared on my radar yet. Nothing implemented...
Stefan aka Zaister made mention of it.
Frankly, I think it's better to hold off till we get a few of the large projects finished up. Unchained is a lot of additional work and the projects underway would make implementing it easier. I'm seeing each unchained class as a separate and new class. I'm sure the archetypes need to interact with them as well. It will take a bit of looking and planning to support properly.
Big issue with open source projects - The number of volunteers is severely lacking, making any speedy delivery of new books impossible. Everyone who is consistent here, pretty much works at least a regular job and then gives an hour or two a week if we're lucky. What would help move the requested books forward are people just like yourself, lending a helping hand.
To answer your question about PFS. PFS is maintained by Mark Means - who adds the books to PFS after making the legal changes. If you're loading PFS, you can only access the legal materials. PFS doesn't add anything to the mix, till after the book is completed. Since we don't have any available volunteers, the book isn't going to move forward anytime soon.
Just to give a little insight into the behind the scenes here:
I'm working with Tom for some much needed under the hood conversions to make our engine more streamlined.
Currently:
Updating the Archetypes to use a more "Boolean" approach, separating out the Class Features removed and the Archetypes allowed systems. Currently these two interweave and it's not pretty. That has been my first priority this past two months.
Updating the OS export to take advantage of the new system utilizing FACT and inherent freemarker template code. (When Tom is available)
Gearing up for the Boolean implementation of the Formula Parser. (That is mainly the above Archetype work)
On top of that, I'm working on Inner Sea Magic, and updating the missing stuff in Advanced Class Guide.
Not to mention that I spent the weekend prepping the JIRA to move to a new server.
Now, if there is a "must have urgently" item from the book, I might make a few minutes to toss something together. But realize the book is a giant rules exceptions and change everything style book. It won't be a quick implementation.
Cheers,
Andrew
How are the Pathfinder Unchained classes being implemented? For example, PFS only allows the Unchained Summoner as a legal Summoner class now. Is that the default Summoner which is selected when you load up the PFS sources? How about the Unchained Rogue? Both it and the "standard" rogue are playable classes in PFS. How do you select that you want to use the Unchained variety?Â
Is this already implemented? If not, is there an ETA for when it will be out?
Thanks!
Brian
